2027 Elections: Allow South To Complete Eight Years, Yari Urges Support For Tinubu

Yari and other members of the campaign council were in Birnin Kebbi to pay homage to the Traditional Institution and seek Royal blessings and prayers.

The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Sen. Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, has concurred with Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris that the South should be allowed to complete eight years in power in the spirit of rotational presidency.

Speaking at the Palace of the Emir of Gwandu, in Birnin Kebbi this Monday, the duo consequently solicited massive votes for President Bola Tinubu from the people of the North West Zone and the entire northern region, in the Presidential election scheduled to hold on 16th January 2027.

Yari and other members of the campaign council were in Birnin Kebbi to pay homage to the Traditional Institution and seek Royal blessings and prayers.

Those who received them were the Chairman, Kebbi Council of Chiefs, who is the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar; the Deputy Chairman and Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera; the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, and the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi Mikhailu, ‘Gomo the Third ‘.

Addressing the Royal Fathers, Governor Idris described Kebbi as an APC state with solid support for President Tinubu to continue in office.

“We are the first state to mobilise our people, declared support and endorsed the President for a second tenure, vowing to vote for him in 2027.

“Whatever you see on the contrary on social media are a bunch of lies, that should be ignored.

“APC is firmly rooted in Kebbi; the Distinguished DG has seen the massive turnout of people in a warm welcome to the Campaign Council members and solidarity for President Tinubu, who has delivered the requisite dividends of democracy to uplift the wellbeing of our communities.

“The North has spent eight years in power; it’s only fair and in the spirit of oneness, togetherness, unity of purpose and our cherished rotational presidency to allow the South to complete its eight years on the saddle”, Idris said.

The Governor commended Traditional Rulers for their consistent support, loyalty and cooperation to the APC-led administration at the federal and state levels, urging them to sustain the tempo.

Speaking in the same vein, the DG APC Presidential Campaign Council DG, was emphatic that the South should enjoy eight years in power.

“The North is known for its fairness; the Southerners agreed, persevered, and consented to the North spending two terms of the Presidency. It was only three years ago that power left the North West; we must be seen to be fair and just.

“It’s only fair to allow the South complete its 8 years by voting President Tinubu to continue in office.

“This is the basis for peace and lasting unity that will make Nigeria continue to prosper.

“Our visit to this dignified Palace is to pay homage to Their Royal Majesty, seek your blessings and prayers for the task ahead.

“Traditional Rulers are fathers of the society; we are here as obedient servants to pay respect to the traditional institution.

“We appreciate your role as character moulders and mobilisers of peace and unity among the citizenry.

“President Tinubu has performed creditably well to take Nigeria to greater heights; he has impacted positively on all sectors of the economy, social wellbeing, agricultural growth and infrastructural development.

“He has also remained consistent in bringing succour to all communities nationwide through empowerment schemes.

“The security situation in the country is an inherited problem which has received utmost priority in tackling the challenges.

“President Tinubu has deployed additional armaments and military hardware as well as dispatched special forces to flash points, especially in the North to checkmate insecurity with resounding successes”, Yari declared.

Yari commended Governor Nasir Idris for transforming Kebbi into a modern state and mobilising support for President Tinubu and the APC.

The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, prayed for the victory of the President and Governor Idris at the 2027 polls.

“People should elect Tinubu, I know him as amiable and amenable leader, a nice personality”,

“Prior to becoming the President, he came to Kebbi to chair the launching of my Biography in the spirit of revering traditional institution and strengthening national unity”,
