Editorial Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Aglow News exists to give readers accurate, clear, and useful reporting on Nigeria and the wider world. This page explains the standards every story published on aglownews.com is expected to meet.

Accuracy and Verification

  • We confirm facts with primary sources (official documents, on-the-record interviews, or direct observation) wherever possible before publishing.
  • When we rely on another outlet's reporting, we credit and link to it.
  • Developing stories are clearly marked, and are updated as new, verified information becomes available.

Press Releases and Official Statements

We do not republish press releases as news. When a statement from a government body, political office, company, or organisation is newsworthy, we report on it in our own words, add context, and make clear who issued it.

Sponsored and Promotional Content

Content that is paid for or provided by an advertiser is clearly labelled as "Sponsored" at the top of the article. Advertisers have no influence over our news coverage.

Use of AI Tools

Our editors may use software tools to assist with tasks such as transcription, translation, or spell-checking. Every article is written or reviewed, fact-checked, and approved by a member of our editorial team before publication.

Independence and Fairness

We aim to represent all relevant sides of a story fairly, give people and organisations a reasonable opportunity to respond to allegations, and keep news reporting separate from opinion. Opinion pieces are clearly labelled as such.

Corrections and Feedback

If we get something wrong, we fix it. See our Corrections Policy for how to report an error, or contact the newsroom at aglownewsblog@gmail.com.
