Abia Electorate Told To Back People With Proven Records Of of Service Ahead Of 2027 Elections.

A grassroots political leader, Hon. Nwaubani Udochukwu Godson, has called on the church to take proactive steps in ensuring that only political candidates with the interest of the people at heart are elected into office.

Hon. Nwaubani made the call at St. Mary’s Anglican Communion, Ohokobe/ Umuohu during a thanksgiving and anniversary event where he was conferred with the award “A Man of Valour” by the Anglican Ministry of Brigade in celebration of their 2026 anniversary.

Presenting the award, the Archdeacon and Vicar of the church, Ven. Joel Osondu Agbo, described Hon. Nwaubani as a distinguished personality with a sterling record of service both in politics and in the body of Christ. He said the award was appreciation of Hon. Nwaubani’s commendable legacy in the church, where he once served as an Anglican youth leader, chorister, and licensed lay reader.

Responding, Hon. Nwaubani said he did not honour the invitation of the young ministry merely to receive an award, but to encourage them in their service to God. Citing 1 Timothy 4:12, he reminded the youths not to allow anyone look down on them because of their age, but to remain examples in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.

The politician, who is the Coordinator of the Grace Movement for Emeka Atuma Senate 2027, also encouraged the youth ministry to make God their cornerstone, assuring them that anyone who looks to God will never be put to shame.

He further urged the church to be mindful as the 2027 elections draw nearer, warning political against was he called" harmless but conceal selfish intentions". He advised the congregation to vote only for leaders with genuine concern for the people and the capacity to bring meaningful change to governance.

Hon. Nwaubani named Rep. Atuma, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, and Hon. Sir Innocent Chimezie Nwachukwu as leaders with proven records of service who deserve the people’s support and can inspire confidence in political leadership.
