Erosion Control and Bridge Construction Underway at Amorji Lodu
Good news from Imenyi Ward! Construction work is progressing at the major erosion control and bridge project at Amorji Lodu in Bende Local Government Area. The intervention is aimed at addressing the severe erosion that has affected the community and disrupted movement for residents over the years.
The gully had previously cut off parts of the community, while also posing a serious threat to homes and properties in the area. Today, work has commenced on site as contractors mobilised to begin the necessary construction and erosion-control measures, an intervention being attributed to the efforts of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The project represents another development intervention in Imenyi Ward, with residents expected to benefit from improved access, safer transportation and greater protection of homes and community infrastructure. Supporters of the Deputy Speaker describe the project as an example of leadership responding to the needs of constituents.
The Amorji Lodu project is also being presented as part of a broader series of interventions across Bende, including road projects, solar street lighting and school infrastructure. According to his supporters, these projects reflect an approach focused on delivering visible infrastructure and practical benefits to communities across the constituency.
