Bende 2027: Kalu’s Supporters Highlight Projects as Chima Anyaso sheds tears
The political contest in Bende Federal Constituency is already attracting attention, with supporters of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu pointing to his reported projects, programmes and federal engagements as evidence of his record in the constituency. They contrast these activities with the campaign of Chima Anyanso, arguing that political support should be based on visible results and grassroots structures.
Kalu’s supporters highlight initiatives including the commissioning of electricity infrastructure after years without power in parts of Bende, as well as skills, grants and employment opportunities reportedly provided to women and youths through the Skills to Wealth Programme. They also point to increased Federal Government presence in the constituency as part of his record in office.
The emerging political debate is therefore increasingly focused on competing claims about achievements, programmes and representation in Bende. While supporters of Kalu emphasise his record and federal connections, Anyanso’s candidacy represents an alternative political platform for constituents ahead of the 2027 election.
As the election approaches, voters in Bende will have the opportunity to assess the respective records, proposals and campaign commitments of the candidates and make their choice based on the issues and priorities they consider most important for the constituency.
