BENJAMIN KALU — A NATIONAL LEADER MAKING BENDE PROUD
Inside the prestigious Green Chamber of the National Assembly, where critical decisions affecting over 200 million Nigerians are made, sits our very own Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, PhD, CFR, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Focused, composed, and deeply engaged in the affairs of the nation, he remains committed to the responsibilities of leadership. Every moment spent in that chamber is an opportunity to contribute to decisions that affect Nigeria, Ndi Igbo, and the people of Bende.
Take a closer look at his appearance: the traditional Isiagu adorned with the lion head, symbolising our rich cultural heritage, and the red cap, representing our pride and identity. Even at the highest levels of national leadership, Benjamin Kalu proudly identifies with his roots. He carries the dignity of Bende and the Igbo nation to the centre of national power without hesitation.
This is what true and effective representation means! It goes beyond attracting transformers, solar streetlights, empowerment programmes, classroom blocks, and road projects to our communities. It also means having a strong voice where national budgets are approved, security legislation is debated, and economic policies that shape our collective future are formulated.
Bende has produced several representatives in the past, but today, we have a son occupying a position of exceptional national importance. As Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu holds the distinguished position of the Number Six citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, helping to preside over the House of Representatives, build consensus, and strengthen the foundations of our democracy.
Bende did not merely send a representative to Abuja; we sent a national leader whose influence extends far beyond our constituency.
And through his leadership, visibility, and commitment to public service, he continues to give Bende and Ndi Igbo reasons to stand tall and be proud.
BENDE, WE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE! LET US VALUE IT.
