I warmly felicitate His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, on the 20th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of the Sokoto Caliphate.
Two decades of stewardship have sustained the stature of this historic institution in Nigeria's traditional, religious and public life.
I recognise his contributions to peacebuilding, interfaith dialogue and religious harmony. Through the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and his engagements across religious divides, he has consistently advanced mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
I remain grateful that His Eminence was represented by the Emir of Bichi at the unveiling of the Peace in the South East Project in Bende, Abia State, on 29 December 2023. It affirmed that peace is a national undertaking, beyond religious, ethnic and regional considerations.
I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants His Eminence sound health, wisdom and strength for many more years of service to the Sokoto Caliphate, the Muslim Ummah and our dear nation.
