2027 — BENJAMIN KALU INAUGURATED AS DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL II (SOUTH) OF TINUBU/APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, has been inaugurated as the **Deputy Director-General II (South)** of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT)/APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 General Elections.
The inauguration took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, marking a significant political development ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In his new role, Kalu is expected to contribute to the campaign council's coordination and mobilisation efforts across Southern Nigeria as the All Progressives Congress prepares for the forthcoming presidential election.
His appointment places him among the political figures entrusted with responsibilities within the campaign council, reflecting his position as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and his involvement in national politics.
The campaign council is expected to work towards strengthening the party's structures, engaging stakeholders, and mobilising support for President Tinubu's re-election bid across the country.
Kalu's emergence in the council's leadership also draws attention to the role of political leaders from the South in the APC's preparations for the 2027 electoral contest.

As political activities gradually intensify ahead of the elections, the campaign council's leadership structure is expected to play a role in coordinating party engagements and outreach across different regions.
The inauguration signals another step in the APC's preparations for 2027, with attention now turning to the council's activities and its efforts to organise the party's campaign ahead of the general elections.
