CLUB 17 PEACE INITIATIVE ABIA ACTIVATES WARD STRUCTURES FOR TINUBU’S 2027 RE-ELECTION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

PRESS STATEMENT

CLUB 17 PEACE INITIATIVE ABIA DIRECTS LGA COORDINATORS TO ACTIVATE WARD STRUCTURES FOR TINUBU’S 2027 RE-ELECTION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The Club 17 Peace Initiative, Abia State, has directed all Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinators to immediately engage their respective Ward Coordinators and commence grassroots mobilisation in line with the resolutions reached at yesterday’s meeting of the State Executive Committee (State EXCO). The directive forms part of the organisation’s proposed statewide door-to-door awareness campaign in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, with a focus on civic awareness, peaceful democratic participation and responsible political engagement.

The State EXCO emphasised the importance of activating the organisation’s grassroots structures to ensure effective coordination and wider community engagement across Abia State. Accordingly, LGA Coordinators are expected to work closely with their Ward Coordinators to develop practical outreach plans, identify key communities and mobilise volunteers to begin activities in accordance with the decisions and guidelines established by the state leadership.

The proposed awareness campaign will feature door-to-door engagement, community dialogue sessions, stakeholder consultations and targeted interactions with youths and women. The initiative will also explore the use of radio, social media and other public communication platforms to share factual information about President Tinubu’s record and publicly stated policies, while promoting peaceful political participation and respect for differing opinions.

To ensure effective implementation, coordinators and volunteers are expected to maintain orderly communication, engage community leaders and conduct outreach in a peaceful, respectful and non-intimidating manner. The State Executive Committee will also encourage proper monitoring and reporting of activities to assess progress, strengthen coordination and ensure that the programme reflects the organisation’s objectives and resolutions.
