Club 17 Peace Initiative Coordinator Commends Tinubu Administration, Calls for Continued Support for Economic Reforms

Hon. Onyeama Augustine, Coordinator of the Club 17 Peace Initiative, Aba South LGA, has commended the reported increase in Nigeria’s external reserves to $51.96 billion, describing the development as a positive indication of improving economic confidence and financial stability. He noted that the reported figure represents Nigeria’s highest level of external reserves since January 2009, saying the development is encouraging for the country’s economic outlook.

According to Onyeama, the stronger reserve position demonstrates progress in efforts to reinforce Nigeria’s financial standing, attract investments and rebuild confidence in the economy. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as measures aimed at strengthening the nation’s economic foundation, stressing that although significant challenges remain, measurable progress should also be acknowledged.

“This is encouraging news for Nigeria. A stronger reserve position provides greater financial stability and strengthens confidence in our economy. While challenges remain, we must recognise measurable progress,” Onyeama said.

Onyeama further urged well-meaning Nigerians to remain appreciative of the Renewed Hope Agenda. He also called on Nigerians to recognise developments that contribute to strengthening the country’s economic position while remaining committed to the long-term process of national development.

The Club 17 Peace Initiative Coordinator also appealed to the people of Abia State, the South-East and Nigerians across the country to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its policies. He expressed support for the President’s bid for another term in 2027, saying continued leadership would provide an opportunity to consolidate what he described as the gains recorded so far.
