Troops Arrest Suspected Foreign ISIS Operative After Foiling ISWAP Attack in Borno

Nigerian troops have arrested a suspected foreign ISIS operative during a counter-terrorism operation in Borno State after successfully repelling a failed attack by ISWAP fighters on a military position in Cross Kauwa, Kukawa Local Government Area.

The suspect was captured during follow-up clearance operations carried out by Operation HADIN KAI. Troops also recovered intelligence materials and other items believed to be linked to terrorist activities.

Military authorities say investigations are ongoing to establish the suspect's identity, nationality, and alleged role in supporting ISIS and ISWAP operations in Nigeria's North-East.
