Different People, Different Lifestyles: Why a ₦200,000 Hotel Room Has Its Market

Different People, Different Lifestyles

Interestingly, while some people are busy getting angry about the hotel’s ₦200,000 room rate, the reality is that the hotel is already fully booked until the end of December. In fact, people have reportedly paid for the rooms ahead of time, with bookings secured all the way to December 31st. Clearly, there are people who can afford the experience and are willing to pay for it.

Owelle Okafor, the owner of the hotel, is a businessman who understands the kind of market he wants to serve. With Abia’s economy growing and more investors, entrepreneurs, and high-income individuals coming into the state, it makes sense that the hotel would be positioned to attract that category of customers. A ₦200,000 hotel room may sound excessive to some people, but to someone with a good job or a successful business in Aba, it may simply be an occasional luxury. People save money for holidays, celebrations, special dates, and moments they want to enjoy with their families or loved ones.

So, if that price is beyond your budget, there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing another hotel that suits your pocket. But there is also no need to attack people who are comfortable paying for a more expensive experience. Go and enjoy your SHORT-TIME HOTEL in peace and let those who can afford this one enjoy theirs too. Everybody has a different financial capacity, and life would be much easier if we learned to respect that. Biko, make everybody breathe.
