EMEKA ATUMA GAINS MOMENTUM AS IKWUANO WOMEN DECLARE SUPPORT
Women leaders from the four clans of Ikwuano on Friday, September 25, 2026, gathered at the residence of Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma to express support for his senatorial bid. The women, drawn from different political backgrounds, also declared support for other APC candidates in Abia State, including the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They said their action was driven by a desire for greater development and progress across Ikwuano.
The delegation was led by Mrs. Chioma Ibelachi of Ibere Clan, Mrs. Charity Enyinnaya of Oloko Clan, Mrs. Ihuoma Ukpabi of Ariam Usaka Clan, Chief Mrs. Chibuzo Akoma of Oboro Clan, and Mrs. Franciska Osuwa. The women said they had assessed the candidates in the senatorial race before settling on Atuma, whom they described as “tested and trusted.” They cited his previous representation of Ikwuano/Umuahia in the House of Representatives, highlighting what they described as his experience, leadership and commitment to constituency development.
The women also commended Atuma’s humility and his relationship with women, expressing confidence in his capacity to represent Abia Central in the Senate. They pledged to mobilise women across the four clans of Ikwuano and engage other women’s groups across the local government areas that make up the senatorial zone.
Responding, Atuma thanked the women for their visit and expression of support. He described the gathering as a statement of their desire for a better Abia Central and said his leadership vision would be anchored on the fear of God. He also assured the women that the interests and concerns of Ikwuano women would receive attention under his representation.

The event was attended by the Director General of the Emeka Atuma Campaign Organisation, Hon. Chidi Nwosu; Dr. Patrick Ikechi; Major Emmanuel Awa; and other members of the campaign council. The women ended the gathering by reaffirming their commitment to active participation in the political process and mobilisation across their communities.
