From Uzuakoli to Ozuitem and Bende Ward: Relief Efforts Reach Flood-Affected Communities
Relief efforts for communities affected by recent flooding have continued across Bende, following earlier interventions in Uzuakoli and Ozuitem. The latest outreach to Bende Ward focused on providing assistance to residents whose homes, farmlands, and livelihoods have been disrupted by the floods.
The visit was led by the Director-General of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu’s Campaign Council, Rev. Trumps Emma Eke, accompanied by members of his team, including Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi (Ijiriji Bende), Hon. PC Mba (Ugo Bende), Arch. Chibuzo Onyeike, Chief Ariwaodo Ikenna (Obinudo Bende), and others. The team visited affected communities and delivered relief materials as part of the ongoing response to the situation.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for direct interaction with residents. Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu met with some of the affected people, listened to their concerns, and discussed the challenges resulting from the flooding. Reports from affected communities indicate that the disaster has caused damage to property and agricultural activities while disrupting the livelihoods of several families.
For residents dealing with the aftermath of the floods, the assistance goes beyond the provision of food and other relief items. Direct engagement with affected families also provides an opportunity to hear their experiences and understand the challenges they face. While relief materials and community visits cannot reverse the losses suffered, they can provide immediate assistance and support during a difficult period.
The continued outreach from one community to another underscores the need for sustained attention to families affected by the disaster. From Uzuakoli to Ozuitem and Bende Ward, the message from the ongoing interventions is that affected residents remain in focus as communities work toward recovery and restoration.

May God strengthen the affected families, comfort those who have suffered losses, and support the recovery of every community impacted by the floods.
