Akpulonu Advocates Stronger Youth Participation in Aba South Development
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Aba South State Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Akpulonu, popularly known as KACHOCHO, has called for increased empowerment, inclusion, and active participation of young people in the political, economic, and social affairs of Aba South. Speaking in commemoration of International Youth Day, he described the youth as a vital force whose ideas, energy, and talents are essential to the progress of the constituency.
Akpulonu stressed that sustainable development would remain difficult to achieve if young people were excluded from important conversations and decisions affecting their future. He said the youth must be given meaningful opportunities to participate in leadership and community development, adding that empowering them requires more than words. According to him, practical measures such as quality education, vocational training, entrepreneurship support, leadership opportunities, and access to economic resources are necessary to help young people become productive and self-reliant.
The APC candidate also reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that place young people at the forefront of development. He noted that Aba South has a vibrant youthful population whose potential can contribute significantly to the growth and prosperity of the constituency when properly equipped with relevant knowledge, skills, opportunities, and platforms. He therefore encouraged stakeholders to create an enabling environment where young people can transform their creativity and abilities into meaningful ventures.
He urged the youth of Aba South to remain determined, innovative, responsible, and actively involved in matters concerning their communities. While congratulating them on International Youth Day, Akpulonu emphasized that the celebration should not be viewed merely as an annual event but as a reminder of the important role young people already play in society. He maintained that the youth should not only be regarded as future leaders but as partners and leaders who are contributing to development today.
Akpulonu called on all stakeholders to support programmes that will enable young people to turn their talents and energy into productive opportunities capable of strengthening families, communities, and the local economy. He maintained that empowering the youth represents an investment in the future stability and prosperity of Aba South, stressing that no serious development agenda can succeed without their active involvement. He therefore encouraged young people to seize available opportunities, develop relevant skills, and remain confident in their ability to make a lasting difference in the constituency.
