Just In: ACTIVIST AND HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER EMPEROR OGBONNA SPEAKS ON BENJAMIN KALU'S NYSC AND LAW SCHOOL ISSUE
As a law student, it is not easy gaining admission into the Nigerian Law School (NLS)Some universities have up to three sets of backlog of students who have graduated from the university and are waiting to be admitted into the law school. An average law student from a Nigerian University waits for two years or more, or less at home to be admitted into the Nigerian law school. Some graduates opt to do their NYSC while waiting for admission into the NLS.
Some graduates, while they are still in the NYSC camp, are notified that they have been admitted into the NLS.Some graduates, while they are at the NLS, are also notified that they have been called up into the NYSC.
Remember that what qualifies any person to be called up for NYSC camp is the first degree or its equivalent, not the law degree. So if you are in the NYSC or NLS, and you are called up for service or admission, what will u do?

This does not happen everyday but it has happened to some people. While not holding brief for Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kanu, the deputy speaker of the House of Assembly, he may not be guilty of the allegation against him after all.Anyone can be in the crossfire due to no fault of his. I am not saying that the scenario painted here was what happened, but it could be what happened or it could be what did not happen.
Either way. Well, the good thing is that the matter is before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee and Ben Kalu would state his own side of the story but for now, let's not find him guilty until we all know the facts of what really happened.
