Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the conversion of long-serving casual workers at the state teaching hospital into permanent staff after many reportedly spent over 12 years working in temporary positions. The decision has been welcomed by workers and labour supporters who described the move as a major relief for employees who had endured years of uncertainty despite their contributions to the healthcare system in Osun State.
The affected workers, who had served in different departments of the hospital under casual arrangements for more than a decade, are expected to benefit from improved job security, better welfare packages, and other employment benefits attached to permanent appointments. The development is seen as part of the Adeleke administration’s efforts to improve workers’ welfare and strengthen the state’s healthcare workforce.
