Just In: APC South East Zonal Congress Holds Successfully in Enugu
Consensus, Unity Mark Smooth Exercise Ahead of National Convention
Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the South East convened in Enugu State for a peaceful and well-organised zonal congress, resulting in the election of new party officials. The gathering drew key figures from across the region, reflecting the party’s growing coordination and commitment to internal democracy.
The congress followed the successful conduct of ward, local government, and state-level exercises, whose outcomes were widely accepted as a true reflection of the will of party members. Delegates and stakeholders collectively endorsed these earlier processes, reinforcing confidence in the party’s structures and grassroots engagement.
In a move to ensure unity and avoid contention, the zonal congress adopted the consensus option in line with Section 84(2) of the Electoral Act. This approach contributed to the smooth and orderly conduct of proceedings, with participants expressing satisfaction over the transparency and inclusiveness of the process.
Party leaders congratulated the newly elected zonal officials and commended the governors of the South East for their commitment to the success of the congress. The calm atmosphere, seamless coordination, and discipline displayed throughout the exercise were highlighted as clear indicators of unity and cohesion within the party across the region.
Looking ahead to the National Convention scheduled for this weekend, members were urged to remain steadfast in their support for the party’s growth and stability.

Emphasis was placed on advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with stakeholders expressing optimism that sustained unity and dedication will position the party strongly for victory in 2027.
