Just In: ATTORNEY GENERAL BACKS MOVE TO DEREGISTER ADC, ACCORD AND OTHERS

The Attorney General of the Federation has asked the Federal High Court Abuja to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to deregister five political parties, including the African Democratic Congress and Accord Party.

The case was filed by a group of former lawmakers seeking enforcement of electoral laws.

In court documents, the Attorney General argued that parties that fail to meet constitutional requirements should not remain registered.
