Just In: Augustine Applauds Deputy Speaker’s Support for Tinubu’s Economic Reforms
Augustine Onyeama the Coordinator of Club 17 Peace Initiative Aba South LGA, has commended the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, PhD, LL.D, CFR, for his immense contributions toward supporting the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, the Deputy Speaker’s commitment and leadership have played a significant role in promoting policies aimed at stabilising the nation’s economy and strengthening governance structures.
He noted that key reforms such as the harmonisation of foreign exchange rates, the removal of fuel subsidy, and other fiscal adjustment measures were bold steps taken to reposition Nigeria’s economy for long-term sustainability. Augustine explained that these policies were necessary to address structural imbalances that had hindered economic growth for years.
Augustine further emphasised that the reforms have begun to yield positive outcomes, particularly in improving fiscal discipline and enhancing transparency in public finance. He added that the renewed economic direction has created a framework for better resource management and more efficient allocation of national revenue.

He also pointed out that the reforms have reduced the need for state governments to rely heavily on borrowing. According to Augustine, this development is gradually placing Nigeria on what he described as a clear trajectory of economic growth, while encouraging subnational governments to focus more on internally generated revenue and sustainable development initiatives.
