Just In: GAC Adopts Hamzat as Consensus APC Governorship Candidate

Members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) have adopted Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, as the consensus governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Lagos State.

The leader of the GAC, Chief Tajudeen Olusi, made the announcement on Tuesday at the Government House in Marina, Lagos, stating that all 21 members present unanimously agreed to support Hamzat as the party’s preferred governorship candidate.

According to him, the decision reflects a collective agreement within the council to back Hamzat’s candidacy for the forthcoming election, describing the consensus as a unified position of the group in preparation for 2027.
