The Coordinator of Club 17 Peace Initiative, Aba South Chapter, Onyeama Augustine alongside members across all wards, has openly reaffirmed their unwavering support for the gubernatorial ambition of Rep. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, ahead of the 2027 Abia State elections.
The group described their endorsement as a reflection of confidence in his leadership capacity, track record, and commitment to people-oriented governance. According to the coordinator, the collective decision followed extensive consultations within the wards, where members expressed strong belief in Kalu’s vision for a progressive and inclusive Abia State.
In a statement released after a strategic Easter celebration meeting, the group emphasized that their support goes beyond mere political alignment, highlighting Kalu’s dedication to youth empowerment, infrastructural development, and peace-building initiatives.

Members across the wards pledged to mobilize support, raise awareness, and actively engage communities to ensure a strong foundation for his gubernatorial bid.

The Club 17 Peace Initiative further called on other political groups, civil society organizations, and well-meaning Abians to rally behind Kalu’s aspiration in the interest of unity and sustainable development.

They stressed that early preparation and collective effort would be crucial in shaping the political landscape ahead of 2027. Reaffirming their commitment, the group assured that they would remain consistent in promoting peace, collaboration, and democratic participation throughout the electioneering process.
