Hon. Onyeama Augustine Ifeanyi Cautions Against Politicizing Insecurity in Oyo State and Nigeria
Hon. Onyeama Augustine Ifeanyi has warned political leaders and stakeholders against politicizing the growing insecurity challenges facing Oyo State and the nation at large. According to him, insecurity remains one of the greatest threats to national development, economic growth, and social stability and should not be used as a tool for political propaganda or partisan attacks. He stressed that the safety of lives and property must remain a top priority for all levels of government and citizens regardless of political affiliations.
Speaking on the security situation across the country, Hon. Onyeama noted that insecurity is not the responsibility of government alone but an issue that affects every individual and community. He emphasized that criminal activities thrive when citizens fail to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information. He therefore urged residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and committed to supporting efforts aimed at protecting their communities from criminal elements.
The political leader further called for collective action among government institutions, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious organizations, and citizens to effectively address the security challenges confronting the nation. He maintained that sustainable peace can only be achieved when all stakeholders work together in unity and sincerity of purpose. Hon. Onyeama reiterated that the fight against insecurity should transcend political interests and focus on safeguarding the future of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
