Hon. Onyeama Augustine: Insecurity Predates Tinubu’s Administration
Hon. Onyeama Augustine has challenged the narrative that places sole responsibility for Nigeria’s security challenges on the administration of President Bola Tinubu. He maintained that the country's insecurity crisis is a long-standing problem that has evolved over several years and across different administrations. According to him, issues such as banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and other forms of criminal activities did not emerge overnight and therefore cannot be attributed exclusively to the current government.
He stressed that tackling insecurity requires a collective and objective approach rather than political blame games. Augustine noted that while citizens have every right to demand improved security, it is important to recognize the historical roots of the problem and support ongoing efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability. He urged political leaders and stakeholders to focus on constructive solutions, strengthen collaboration among security agencies, and work together in the national interest to address the complex security challenges facing the country.
