Yesterday, at Akpugo, Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State, I joined the Nneji family to pray for the repose of the soul of their departed mother, Chief Mrs. Chinelo Monica Nneji, who was buried over the weekend while I was at the IPU General Assembly in Istanbul, Turkiye.
I share a longstanding history with the Nneji family, having grown up in the same neighborhood in Aba, worshipped in the same Church, and built bonds that have stood the test of time.
The late Chief Sampson Nweke Nneji (Odibo-Oha) was a pillar of the community, a respected leader and an entrepreneurial force whose legacy continues to inspire. His son, Chukky Nneji (Odibo-Oha II), has carried that torch with distinction, building a formidable name in the sound industry spanning decades.
And then there is Obinna Nneji, my classmate, my friend, whose loyalty and thoughtfulness have never wavered. That kind of friendship is rare and I do not take it for granted.
Mama Nneji raised a family of purpose and character. May her beautiful soul find eternal rest in the bosom of the Almighty.

I am grateful to Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, Hon. Toby Okechukwu, Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka, Dr. Cliff Ogbede, Chief Daniel Akwari, Chief Martins Mbaka, and other associates who joined me in Enugu for this visit.
