IGNORE RUMOURS, VICTORY IS POSSIBLE, CHIEF OPAH ASSURES APC LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMEN !!
*The 2027 Abia APC governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah in continuation of his engagement with party leaders and stakeholders across the state, has met with the 17 Local Government Area chairmen of Abia All Progressives Congress APC at his country home, Mbubo, Nsulu in IsialaNgwa North LGA.
*The strategic meeting as part of Chief Opah's ongoing consultations was to appreciate the party chairmen for their overwhelming support for him during the party's governorship primary election and to update them on the progress of his candidacy.
*In his address, Chief Opah disclosed that he had successfully completed all the necessary processes relating to his nomination as the governorship candidate of Abia APC and that his name had been uploaded to the INEC portal.
*He also used the opportunity to assess the state of the party across the 17 local government areas as he sought updates from each chairman on the progress and challenges within their respective domains. He assured them of his commitment to their welfare and pledged his maximum support as the party prepares for the 2027 general election.
*Chief Opah urged the party chairmen not to be discouraged by speculations being circulated by members of the factional Labour Party suggesting that Governor Alex Otti had already been assured of reelection.
"Do not allow yourselves to be demoralised by rumours or insinuations. If I believed such claims were true, I would not have presented myself to offer Abians a better alternative. I remain convinced that the APC will take over Abia State in 2027," he assured.
*Chief Opah charged the local government chairmen to intensify grassroots mobilisation with confidence. He assured them of the party's leadership firm support.
*He also appealed to those whose preferred aspirants did not emerge victorious during the primaries to embrace sportsmanship and work together for the collective interest of the APC.
"There is far more to gain from a united party than from division. This is the time to close ranks, put the primaries behind us, and work for the success of all APC candidates. Sabotaging the party will only hand victory to our opponents," he warned.

*Speaking on national politics, Chief Opah urged the party chairmen take pride in the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, noting that several governors from opposition political parties had acknowledged the positive impact of the President's economic policies.
*Chief Opah confirmed that the reforms introduced by the APC Federal Government have increased financial inflows to states that payment of salaries is nolonger an achievement, what counts, he said, is the quality of salaries paid to workers. He advised that aligning Abia State with the ruling party at the centre would create greater opportunities for development and improve the welfare of Abians.
*Responding on behalf of the local government chairmen, the Chairman of the Forum of APC Local Government Chairmen, Hon. Onyeukwu Nwaogu, described the meeting as "a step in the right direction."
*He thanked Chief Opah for convening the engagement and assured him of the support of the local government chairmen of the party.
*Other party local government chairmen who spoke at the meeting also expressed appreciation to Chief Opah for the engagement, saying his words of encouragement had renewed their confidence and inspired them to work harder for the party's success in the forthcoming elections.
