IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION

Please ignore the sensational fake news making the rounds that Igbo history has been removed from school history books. It is FAKE NEWS.

Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has already engaged the Honourable Minister of Education on this matter, and an official clarification will be issued today via a press statement. For the avoidance of doubt.

Only books approved by NERDC are valid for use in Nigerian schools.Any book outside the approved list is not official and is being circulated to mislead the public.Members of the public are advised to visit the NERDC website to verify approved textbooks before drawing conclusions.

The source of the book being circulated is questionable and not on the Ministry’s approved list.As always, Hon. Benjamin Kalu stands firmly for inclusivity, truth, and national cohesion.

Let’s verify facts before spreading panic or dragging people unnecessarily.
