Kachocho Demands Accountability for Youth Development Funds in Aba South.
Says Budgetary Allocations Must Deliver Real Jobs and Opportunities for Young People
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Aba South State Constituency in the 2027 election, Hon. Chinedu Akpulonu, popularly known as "Kachocho," has called for greater accountability in the management of public funds earmarked for youth empowerment, vocational training, skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship development. He noted that despite the huge sums allocated to these programmes over the years, many young people in Aba South have continued to struggle with unemployment and limited economic opportunities.
According to Akpulonu, residents of Aba South deserve clear explanations from the current representative of the constituency regarding the implementation of these youth-focused initiatives. He questioned the actual amount allocated and released for youth development programmes over the years and challenged the lawmaker to provide details of the beneficiaries, businesses established through government support, and the number of sustainable jobs created as a result of the investments.
The APC candidate stressed that demanding transparency should not be mistaken for political criticism but viewed as a legitimate responsibility in a democratic society. He maintained that public officials entrusted with taxpayers' money have a duty to account for every fund appropriated for constituency development, particularly those targeted at empowering young people with practical skills and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Akpulonu further emphasized that every naira budgeted for youth development in Aba South State Constituency should produce measurable results that improve livelihoods and stimulate economic growth.

He said the youths of the constituency deserve more than campaign promises and policy announcements, insisting that they have every right to expect tangible opportunities, sustainable employment, business support, and visible evidence that public resources are being used to improve their future.
