Just In: Leadership Award 2025Benjamin Kalu Emerges Best Legislator of The Year
Awards are not mere accolades; they are catalysts that reinforce our commitment to the mandate of the people we represent. Today, I received with great honour and humility the Legislator of the Year Award 2025, presented by Leadership Newspapers, an institution whose commitment to truth and accountability has remained strong for decades.
Over the past years of extensive work and research in Parliament, we have remained deliberate and focused on delivering impactful legislative interventions to improve the lives of our people and strengthen our nation, sponsoring over 127 bills across critical sectors.
This recognition, however, is not mine alone. It belongs to every Nigerian who believes that legislation must serve the people and that governance must be measured not by speeches delivered, but by lives transformed. Every bill we sponsor, every motion we move, and every amendment we propose must answer to the needs of the common Nigerian.
I thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership; the Senate President, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON; the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON; and my dear colleagues for their synergy and support in the National Assembly.
I extend my felicitations to the other awardees, including our First Lady, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, GCON, and the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma amongst others.
To my constituents in Bende Federal Constituency, you remain the inspiration for these strides. In every legislative session, I carry your voices, hopes, and expectations into the hallowed chanbers of the Green Chambers.
To my family, my entire team, friends and everyone who came in celebration of this milestone, I thank you.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
