Just In: National Assembly Unveils First Christian Chapel as a Symbol of Unity and Faith- Rep. Benjamin Okezie Kalu
Today, we witnessed another historic moment at the National Assembly as we gathered for the formal commissioning of the first Christian Chapel by the First Lady, Her Excellency, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, CON.
Speaking at the event, I noted that as lawmakers entrusted with the responsibility of making laws for over 200 million Nigerians, we must remain conscious of our duty to serve under the authority of the Almighty, whose guidance gives meaning and direction to every human institution.
I acknowledge the vision of earlier Assemblies and the perseverance of the Christian Legislators Fellowship across the 7th, 8th, and 9th Assemblies, whose sacrifices made this possible.
Our appreciation goes to the former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon GCFR who graced this significant occasion.

I commend the 10th Assembly under the leadership of the Senate President, Distinguished Senator, Godswill Akpabio GCON and the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas GCON, for their outstanding leadership and commitment to making this a reality. The 10th Assembly has fulfilled a vision conceived years ago, History will record that this generation, this legislature and this administration did not abandon vision; we fulfilled it.
This Chapel belongs not only to history but to the future. It is my earnest prayer that it will remain a house of prayer for national unity, and a constant reminder that leadership must be anchored in reverence for God and service to the people.
