Ohuhu Traditional Rulers Urge Governor Otti to Fix Road to Federal College of Education, Ofeme
Traditional rulers from the Ohuhu clan are crying to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, to prioritize the rehabilitation of the badly deteriorated access road leading to the Federal College of Education (FCE), Ofeme, Umuahia. The appeal was led by His Royal Majesty Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu, alongside His Royal Majesty Eze Charles Ngwuli and His Royal Majesty Eze Innocent Nwaigwe, who emphasized the urgent need for government intervention.
During a visit to the institution, the monarchs lamented the poor state of the road, describing it as a major obstacle to the smooth operation and continued development of the college. They noted that the deplorable condition of the access route has created unnecessary hardship for students, staff, visitors, and members of the surrounding communities who depend on the road.
The royal fathers called on the Abia State Government to honour its commitment to reconstructing the road, stressing that a modern and motorable access route would significantly improve the institution's learning environment while supporting its expansion and overall growth. They maintained that better infrastructure would also encourage greater educational and economic activities within the area.
According to the traditional rulers, the Federal College of Education, Ofeme, remains a treasured institution for the Ohuhu people and an important educational asset to Abia State.
Eric Opah is coming soonest to address all the menace.
