The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has announced the marriage of his autistic son, Aboy, in a development that has sparked widespread reactions across social and religious circles.
The marriage comes just days after the cleric made a public appeal, offering a reward to any “healthy” woman willing to marry his son, a move that generated intense debate online and offline.
Despite the controversy, the announcement confirmed that a woman accepted the proposal, leading to the formal union of the couple within a short period.
As part of his support for the newlyweds, Apostle Chinyere gifted them ₦10 million, a house, and an all-expenses-paid overseas vacation to begin their married life.
He further pledged an additional ₦20 million to the couple after 10 years, with the condition that his son is still alive at the time.
The cleric described the gesture as an act of love and commitment to ensuring his son lives a fulfilled and supported life despite his condition.

The development has drawn mixed reactions from the public, with some praising the cleric for standing by his son and providing for his future.
Others, however, have raised ethical concerns, particularly around the framing of the initial offer and the implications it may have on dignity and consent.
Advocates for persons with disabilities have called for more sensitivity in how such matters are handled, emphasizing respect, inclusion, and autonomy.
The marriage has nonetheless brought renewed attention to conversations about disability, societal perceptions, and the responsibilities of families and institutions in supporting vulnerable individuals.
