Just In: Tinubu Doesn’t Own APC – Kalu
Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not the personal property of any individual, including its national leader, Bola Tinubu. Speaking to party members during discussions on internal unity and leadership, Kalu stressed that the party’s strength comes from collective effort, not personal control.
He highlighted that while Tinubu remains a central and influential figure in the APC, the party’s foundation rests on the contributions and commitment of its members across the country. According to Kalu, the vision and success of the APC have always been driven by collaboration and shared ideals rather than individual dominance.
Kalu’s remarks come amid rising conversations within the party concerning influence, loyalty, and direction, especially as preparations quietly begin for upcoming political contests. He noted that the ongoing debates should serve as opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and strengthened bonds among party members.
The Deputy Speaker urged all members to prioritize unity and internal democracy, emphasizing that an open and inclusive party is essential to sustaining the APC’s position as the nation’s ruling party. He called for a culture where ideas are debated collectively and decisions are made transparently, reinforcing the principles of teamwork over personal ambition.

He concluded by reminding party members that leadership in the APC should be a shared responsibility. True progress, Kalu argued, comes when the party embraces collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual respect, ensuring that the APC remains strong, resilient, and representative of its broad national base.
