Hon. Onyeama Augustine has reassured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making every possible effort to secure the safe release of the schoolchildren, teachers, and other victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. He noted that the President remains deeply concerned about the incident and has directed relevant security agencies to intensify operations aimed at rescuing the captives and reuniting them with their families without delay.
Onyeama stated that the recent approval for the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening security, particularly in remote communities and forested areas that have become hideouts for criminal elements. He expressed confidence that the measure would enhance intelligence gathering, improve surveillance, and support ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other security threats.
He further urged residents of the affected communities and families of the victims to remain calm and hopeful, assuring them that security operatives are working around the clock to achieve a positive outcome. According to him, the fight against insecurity requires a united approach involving government, security agencies, community leaders, and citizens, stressing that collective responsibility remains key to protecting lives and property across the nation.
