The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu Ph.D, LL.D, CFR, has emphasized that true leadership is not a product of sudden ambition but the result of credibility built steadily over time. According to him, leadership demands consistency, integrity, and a track record of decisions guided by facts, reason, and evidence rather than impulse or sentiment.
He further noted that ambition must always be disciplined by service to the people, stressing that public office is a responsibility, not a privilege.
For him, effective leadership is defined by selfless commitment, informed decision-making, and an unwavering focus on the collective good rather than personal gain.
