Politics:
MANIFESTO vs PAPER: BENDE, JUDGE FOR YOURSELF!
By: Aglow TV
Politics is not only about what is written on paper. It is about what becomes law, institutions and lasting development.
Onyeama Augustine, a strong supporter of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, point to his legislative record as evidence of what he describe as results beyond promises. Among the initiatives he highlight are the South East Development Commission Act, the Federal College of Education, Bende, the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Bende, and the Kampala Convention Act. He also cite his reported sponsorship of 127 bills as part of his legislative record.
The message from him is simple: a document is only a promise until action gives it meaning. While political promises may focus on what could happen tomorrow, legislation that becomes law can create institutions and frameworks designed to serve communities for generations.
For Bende, Onyeama argue, the real question should be: What has been achieved? What has been legislated? What has been secured for the future? The case is that representation should be measured not only by contracts or declarations, but also by laws, institutions, infrastructure and opportunities that remain after an elected official leaves office.
One signs a document. Another signs bills that become law. One may speak about the future; the other points to legislative records that he say are already shaping the future.
BENDE, THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
Look at the records. Examine the promises. Compare the achievements. Then judge for yourself.
Big Ben. Big Legislation. Big Impact.
