The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, has called on the people of Abia State and Nigerians at large to embrace a Christ-like lifestyle as they celebrate the Easter season. He urged citizens to reflect deeply on the values of sacrifice, love, and humility demonstrated by Jesus Christ, noting that these virtues remain essential for building a harmonious and progressive society.
Kalu emphasized the need for individuals to show genuine love, kindness, affection, and empathy toward one another, especially during this period of spiritual reflection. According to him, Easter is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to renew commitments to peaceful coexistence and to extend compassion to the less privileged, fostering stronger bonds within communities.
He further appealed to Nigerians to use the season as a turning point to promote unity and national cohesion, setting aside differences that divide the people. By embracing peace and understanding, Kalu expressed optimism that the country can move forward with a shared sense of purpose, reinforcing hope for a more united and prosperous Nigeria.
