THE BITTER TRUTH......
"There is a difference between the place of political parties in Nigeria and in advanced democracies. In the US for instance, you will hardly see someone who is a member of the Republican Party this year, move to the Democratic Party the next year. Same with the UK, between the Labor Party and the Conservative Party. In these places, there are strong and deep ideological foundations and political philosophies that separate them.
In Nigeria, there are no ideological differences between parties and they have become machineries to contest elections and seek power. This is why it has become normal for politicians and their supporters to move from one party to the other with ease.
So for me, that a person moved from one party to the other means nothing to me. I am only interested in what the person brings to the table.
Let me say this...I see any role played by any person in Abia politics between 2015 and 2023 as the role assigned to that person by God at that time. We must move on and we have moved on. As Governor, my interest is finding competent persons to work with. So I don't have any enemies anywhere. I don't look at people from the perspective of the parties they belonged to before now, once there is a willingness to contribute to the growth of the state.
After all, I was in other parties before now myself. So what are we saying?
So whatever role you played then doesn't matter anymore. Forgive yourself because you have long been forgiven here ".
